Now let us tell you a little more about Rio de Janeiro:
Rio de Janeiro is one of the largest cities in Brazil, so you will find plenty of things to do here. The main attractions are its beaches and landscapes. Copacabana and Ipanema, for instance, are so famous there are even songs devoted to them. Rio is famous during the Carnival (which are the five days before Ash Wednesday, so the dates change year after year), but it doesn't mean you cannot travel to the "cidade maravilhosa" any time of the year.
Besides pampering yourself at the beach, there are a few remarkable sites you can visit. The Maracana stadium is a must if you love football. Santa Teresa neighbourhood will show you some of the oldest buildings they have, so you can admire their architecture. The Sugar Loaf mountain and the Corcovado are nice and not very tall mounts where you can admire both the city and its beautiful Atlantic coast. The Corcovado also hosts the famous Christ the Redeemer statue, which was voted one of the new Seven Wonders of the World in 2007.
It is hard to think about Brazil without thinking on the huge Amazon rainforest, so Rio people reserved a special area of their city to preserve what is left of their connection to the Amazon. The name of the site is Tijuca, and it is open for trekking and picnics. It has caves, waterfalls that are worth the walk and, if you feel adventurous, you can climb Pico da Tijuca and yell "I made it!" too.
As you can see, visiting Rio de Janeiro can be a nice experience. Contact us to ask for more information and choose your departure date.
